Aquatica is Sea World's water park and is located right across the street from
Sea World. Aquatica is a very unique water park compared to any other water
park most people have been to. Of course the park has ordinary slides as any
water park but there is also the most popular slide in the park which is unlike
any other. This slide is called the Dolphin Plunge which takes slider through
an enclosed tube and at one point through the slide the enclosed tube is clear
and the slider is under water gliding with the black and white Commerson's
Dolphins. It is a once in a lifetime experience that guests will always
remember and want to definitely come back to experience again.
The park also has animals that are
set free to roam the park as you do and guests can play with these animals as
well. So the animal lovers will definitely love this park. If you want a little
bit of privacy while at the park with a place to be able to get away from all
of the crazy fun going on and just relax, there is a choice to rent a private
cabana or lounge chair in a private area. The private cabana includes drinks
for 4 people, a ceiling fan, sunscreen, 20% discount for merchandise, and a 25
dollar discount for passport members year-round.
There are many different rides here at Aquatica for children and adults. Some
of the featured attractions are Cutback Cover and Big Surf Shore, which are the
wave pools here at Aquatica, one is for more quicker and bigger waves and the
other is smaller and slower waves so there is accommodations for everyone. Then
there is Dolphin Plunge, Kata's Kookaburra, Loggerhead Lane, Roa's Rapids,
Tassie's Twisters, Taumata Racer, Walhalla Wave and HooRoo Run, Walkabout
Waters, and Whanau Way.
Aquatica is the sister them park of Sea World and Discovery Cove. Aquatica is
said to have combined Sea World and Discovery Cove into what they call "Sea
World's Whimsical, One of a Kind Waterpark" that features thrill water rides,
up close encounters with the animals, and 80,000 Square Feet of white sandy
beaches. The park first opened on March 1, 2008 with just a small invitation of
people, the grand opening was on April 1, 2008 when the park filled to capacity
