Gatorland in
Orlando is known as a one of a kind attraction, it is a protected
habitat for man and beast where you never know what adventure lurks
right around the corner. This is also known internationally as the
Alligator Capital of the World. Gatorland sits on 110 acres of land
and is a theme park as well as a nature conservatory located
conveniently right in Central Florida. Gatorland first began this
experience in 1949 as just a roadside attraction. Gatorland has been
creating memories for millions of visitors for over a half a century.
When entering through the double glass doors, there is a journey
through a natural wildlife.
Gatorland is located in between
Orlando and Kissimmee on South
Orange Blossom Road. This is one
of Central Florida’s oldest
attractions that offer a very
unique and natural adventure as
oppose to the theme parks of
today. The park was founded by
Owen Godwin who has passed away
but the park is still privately
owned by his family. The park
includes many family fun
attractions with thousands of
alligators and crocodiles, a
breeding marsh with boardwalk and
observation tower, one of a kind
reptilian shows, aviary, petting
zoo, swamp walk, educational
programs, and many more. Gatorland
also has Adventure Tours which
include Trainer for a Day, Gator
Night Shine, Adventure Hour, and
Rookie Wrestling. Gatorland has a
Fun Zone which includes Gator
Gully Splash Park, Allie’s
Barnyard, Express Railroad, Very
Merry Aviary, and Great shows
through out the day. This
attraction also includes a
restaurant called Pearl’s
Smokehouse. This restaurant
includes Smoke Alligator Ribs and
Deep Friday Gator Nuggets. It also
includes many other things on the
menu such as hot dogs, chili dogs,
hamburgers, shrimp, chicken
tenders, and much more. The park
is filled with all kinds of
different kinds of animals and
birds that roam free as well.
Visitors can feed them and try to
pet them at their own free will.
Gatorland is a great experience
for the whole family with fun
filled attractions as well as
educational programs.
"Gatorland in Orlando is a fun filled adventure with
creatures in the wildlife. It’s not too pricey, at about 22
dollars a person or cheaper. Unless, of course, you want to do
one of the tours which will be extra but still not as
expensive as one of the theme parks. The staff that put on the
shows makes them amazing and funny to watch. There are train
rides and the guests are able to hold some of the critters
such as a gator or a snake. There is no need to be afraid of
holding any of the critters as the staff makes you feel very
comfortable. Make sure to head over to the cookhouse to get
some of the surprisingly great tasting gator tail nuggets and
gator ribs. The taste is different but very tasteful and good.
Going home from Gatorland leaves you with a very educated,
satisfied, and entertained experience."
